1990

Sandton Oncology was established in 1990 to provide the community with quality compassionate, patient-focused medical care. We first opened at 159 Rivonia Road, Sandton, Johannesburg in a pleasant tranquil setting.

The centre featured a Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology division, a robust research wing and an on-site oncology pharmacy.

We opened with a service offering of comprehensive cancer care, which included chemotherapy, radiotherapy and psychotherapy with each section staffed and led by a team of skilled medical professionals with extensive experience in cancer and its management.

2017

In November of 2017 we relocated to our new cancer centre of excellence, situated at 200 Rivonia Medical Centre, which offers leading medical oncology and radiotherapy treatments. We have opened the centre, with a state of the art Versa HD Linear Accelerator that is capable of delivering complex radiotherapy treatments to the head and body with shorter treatment times, sparing more healthy tissue and thus decreasing the side effects of treatment.
